Installing an App from a previous Office version with office XP

I just bought a new computer with Office XP for Small
business, which does not include PowerPoint. I have
Office 2000 Professional, which includes PowerPoint. Can
I install PowerPoint from Office 2000 with my Office XP?
How would I do it? I'm concerned some aspects might over
write Office XP.

The recommended method is to install the oldest first and then the
progressively newer versions, always electing to install to a separate
directory using a custom install.

Remove Office SBE, install your PowerPoint from Office 2000, then reinstall
Office XP SBE selecting a custom installation. First, however, I would
patch the Office 2000 program to bring it up to speed and to not have
conflicting messages when you try to update Office XP.
