installing an upgrade

My old computer (6 years old) came with Microsoft Word already installed and
the only software included was on the recovery disk. Since then, I bought a
Word and an Excel upgrade which I installed on the old system.

Now I have a new computer and I want to install Word and Excel on them but
the cd is of course for upgrades only.

Is there a way around this? Word and Excel are too expensive to buy again
and I really think I should be able to transfer the license to a new system.
