When trying to run analysis services on an old 4.0 server I get unable to
connect to olap server. On the server that is hosting SQL and analysis
services I have verfied that there is an olap administrators group and that
the group has permissions to access the database Analysis Services
Repository. But on the SQL server in the event viewer I see that the error
that comes across is that the user /. does not have administrative
permissions on the server and is trying to complete an administrative
function. In the error it does not give the domain id that I am using for
this operation it just says the user is "/." even though I know what the
domain account is. When I go out to the server I look in the manage domains
and then change the domain to this servers name to see it's local groups and
the olap group is there with the domain id in there.
