Hi Jake,
It's not a matter of 'harming it' but that all Office versions share some same named common files/folders, but updated versions. So
while you can install side by side (although only one version of Outlook) may want to first backup your files before installing
Office 2007 and be sure you have your Office 2000 CDs available in case you need to repair or reinstall 2000 later.
