Installing DSO on Project Server

Diane

I have Server #1 with SQL 2000 for databases
I have Server #2 with Project Server 2003 & SharePoint portal Server/Services

I have to install DSO on Server #2 (which is not a SQL server). Does it
need to be a SQL server? How/from where do I install DSO onto the Project
Server?

Thank you.

Regards,
Diane

-MSP Server uses Decision Support Objects (DSO) to communicate with Analysis
Services
-You Must install SQL Analysis Manager DSO on the MSP Server box.

When the database server and web server exist on separate machines it is
necessary to install
the Analysis Server Decision Support Objects and Client Components on the
Web Server, as well
as the Analysis Services Service Pack 3 update.

Without this Project Server will not be able to complete OLAP based
functions necessary for utilization of the Portfolio Analyzer.

!!!Note: Front Page 2000 and 2002 Server Extensions can NOT be installed on
the web server
due to an incompatibility with Windows SharePoint Services.
