Installing EndNote X1

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther)
Processor: Power PC

Hello,
According to the installation notes for EndNote X1 my Word tools menu should have an EndNote option.
It doesn't.
Apparently I should update Word X, but I can't find that on the website.
And in any case my computer regularly updates all its programs.
Can someone please advise.
