Hi Dawn

In what way is it 'not there'? As far as I know, Office
does not create shortcuts on the desktop if that's what
you're looking for. You have to create those yourself.

You can do this either by start..all programs... then
right click and drag to the desktop the element you want
(Word, Excel or whatever) from the start bar and
select 'copy' or going all the way through my
computer..c:..program files..microsoft
office...office10..and then right clicking and dragging
to the desktop Excel.exe or winword.exe etc.

If the programs don't appear at all on the start bar
(have you looked right down at the very bottom, possibly
scrolling off the bottom of the screen) then you have a
problem I can't suggest an answer to!
