Installing Office '03 Pro on Vista Home Premium box

Hello all,

I am attempting to install a volume license copy of Microsoft Office
2003 on one of my company's trainer's computer. His computer has
Windows Vista Home Premium and was recently purchased from Dell
(Inspiron 530). The machine has 3GB of RAM, and Intel Core2 Duo 2.20
GHz processor, and a 300GB hard drive. The instructor has already
installed Microsoft Office 97 and 2002 on his machine in separate
directories. He needs the various versions of Office on his machine
in order to prepare for the different Office classes he teaches.

When I attempt to install Office '03, I am able to input the product
key and choose a custom install. I then select a new directory to
install the program in (Microsoft Office 2003) and only allow the
installer to remove the old version of Outlook. Once the Installation
Progress window comes up, however, nothing happens. The progress bar
does not fill and the current action remains blank. I can attempt to
cancel the install but the Installation Progress window does not
close. I have to go into the Task Manager and force the install
program to quit. This occurs when I attempt to install from an MSDN
CD or DVD, as well as from a network install.

Any ideas what the problem may be?
