Installing Office 2000 on WIN XP Computer

It seems many have trouble installing Office 2000 on WIN XP computers. Is this suppose to be a problem? Are there users who have been completely successful installing Off 2000 on WIN XP? The reason I do not want to upgrade right now is the OFF 2000 is what is being used at work.
