I have MS OFFICE 2000 for WINDOWS NT/98 and it won't load
on my newly purchased WINDOWS XP system. Do I need to
purchase a newer version of MS OFFICE that will load onto
WINDOWS XP or is there an upgrade available?

Office 2000 is compatible with Windows XP {Home or Professional}. Do you
perhaps have the upgrade version of Office 2000 and lack a qualifying
product on your Windows XP computer?

If your Office 2000 is the upgrade version, just insert the qualifying
product in the appropriate drive when asked. You do not need to install the
qualifying product. If you no longer have a qualifying product, you can use
your Office 2000 CD to install Office XP upgrade version {any edition}.
Check here:

for information on qualifying for a free upgrade to Office 2003 with
purchase of Office XP.
