Installing Office 2000 Upgrade on XP Computer

I recently bought a computer with Works Suite. I tried
to install my previously bought Office 2000 Small
Business upgrade, which is supposed to allow upgrades
from Works Suite, but I get an Error 1608, basically
stating that a compatible program to update has not been
located. Any hints on installing this update?

Probably the Works suite is a later edition than yr Office SB
If you have the old Works suite disk, or the previous app used as the
qualifying app insert in the cd and point yr Office install to it, when
asked

Thanks. The works suite is newer than the Office SB - I
can't find the old edition of the works suite - any other
ideas?

Buy an old edition?
Borrow an old edition, burn copy and keep - not strictly ethical
