Installing Office 2000

My hard drive died. After having a new one installed, I
tried to re-install my Office 2000 Standard. The CD
cracked and it won't read. Is there anyway of getting a
replacement CD? I have my product key. School is
starting in a few weeks and I have to have Word. After
paying for the new hard drive and upgrading to XP I can't
afford to buy Office 2003.

Microsoft no longer has copies of Office 2000... the poster will have to try
an online reseller or an auction.

Hi, Lori. See http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=326246 "Replace Lost,
Broken, or Missing Microsoft Software or Hardware". But I have heard
that Microsoft no longer has Office 2000 CDs available. You may have to
buy another copy of Office from Microsoft, an online retailer, or your
local computer store. If all you need is Word, sometimes it's actually
cheaper to buy Microsoft Works Suite (not plain old Microsoft Works),
which includes either Word 2000 or Word 2002 depending on the version of
Works Suite. Good luck.
