Installing Office 2003 and Keeping Access 2000

Gary

I currently have Office 2000 sp3 on my system (XP sp2 OS) with Visio 2003. I
use to install Office 2003. I also like to Keep My Access 2000 on my system
to generate databases to distribute (using its mde). If I remember, when I
load, the menu bar, and everything gets written over unless I rename those
(like the Access 2000 ones) to something else.

Does Office 2003 creates its own directory in Program Files???, or should I
rename my old me if I wish to keep my Access 2000???

Your help is deeply appreciated.

I believe Office 2003 does use its own folder (can't be certain, since I may
have chosen a unique name myself). You cannot simply rename the existing
folder and expect Access to continue working, since there are likely
hundreds of references to the old folder name in the registry.

Make sure you tell Office not to uninstall the previous version.

This assumes, of course, that you haven't purchased an Upgrade version of
Office 2003. If you have, then you must uninstall the previous version, as
you haven't purchased a new license.
