Installing Office 2003

Newtechie

Hi -

I want to create a separate partition(E:) for testing purposes only. I'm
gonna install Office 2003 on this partition as well as other programs, but
my question is will I have a problem with applying updates with it being
installed on the E drive?

Thanks in advance,
Newtechie

Not only that, but you will have an activation problem with the second
Office 2003 install.

I haven't installed it yet. It'll only be installed on the E drive.
So I won't be able to activate it?

This will work fine. It will probably put some system files on your System
drive though.

Huh? I don't believe he said he was installing two copies.

But I'd have to wonder what he believes the advantages to installing
it on a separate drive would be.

Some people prefer to do this with software they're testing out, under the
theory that it's less likely to trample other things on the system, or it
will be easier to remove, etc. This used to be very true, but over the
years, the advantages to doing this have declined significantly.
