Installing Office 2004 on a new Mac

I've used my three Home/Student Edition Office 2004 licenses on installations
on two desktop Macs and a laptop. Now, I'm replacing the laptop with a new
one. I understand how to move my Office data over to the new laptop by
copying the Microsoft User Data file but am concerned about the basic
installation of Office 2004. Can I use one of the three licenses over again
or somehow transfer the license from my old laptop to my new one or must I
buy another three licenses for Office 2004?

You can use your old license again. Mac Office does not require activation,
unlike Win Office, so just use your old product key. Be sure not to use any
key one that is already in use on your desktop Macs, as you will not be able
to run two copies using the same product key at the same time.

Actually, you are entitled to install on 1 Desktop & 1 Laptop *per* license,
so you really don't have to do anything other than install on the new LT
using one of the existing DT licenses - you simply can't use Office
simultaneously on the 2 systems which share the same license.

If you're disposing of the old LT you should, of course, run Remove Office
on it or reformat the HD after migrating your files.

Make sure to apply the updates to the new installation.

A similar problem with MS Office 2004.
I have installed it on two LT:s (one license left). LT number one is sold and before that MSO is removed. From LT number 2 is MSO transfered to a third, new one. When these, nr 2 and 3, are used simultanously of course MSO reacts because they have the same license. How can I put a new license number in LT 3? Do I have to reinstall the whole package?

You should be able to just launch the Remove Office utility & hold Option
the instant you do. That provides the opportunity to change the key to a
different one. However...

Depending on how you "transfered to a third" I'd be a little cautious -
Apple's migration Assistant & MS Office don't play very well together. It
might be worth your while to run Remove Office on the 3rd system then
install from scratch using the appropriate key.
