Clean the installation CD with a soft cloth
to remove any fingerprints or smudges.

You could try copying the contents of the CD to a folder on your desktop and
install from there.

First, stop SHOUTING at the people from whom you are asking help,
because it is not the best approach and reflects poorly on you.
SKU011.CAB is in the root folder of your Office 2003 Professional
Enterprise Edition CD.

My apologies to all for "shouting." I didn't know what it was, but
apparently "it reflects poorly on me," and I made this particular responder
quite defensive.

I'm a newbee to all this, but now I know and will never do it again.

Thank you for the information. I'm enthusiastic about figuring this out,
but I'm wondering why this root file can't be found, and I don't have the
Office 2003 CD.

The quest continues.

Is Office 2003 Professional Enterprise Edition installed on your
computer? If yes, and if you don't have the CD, then how did the
software get installed on your computer? Office 2003 Professional
Enterprise Edition is legitimately available only to volume-license
customers, not to retail consumers... which are you?

I purchased this computer from a "tell-us-what-you-want-we'll-build-it" legit
computer store, and this program was already installed. I don't know how to
answer your question - or respond to the tone - other than to say this is how
it came, and all I wanted to do is upgrade to Office 2007.

I'm learning a lot (like not to type in all caps), and I appreciate the
interaction.

You seem to know your s-tuff; I hope to be that knowledgeable one day.

Then I suggest you contact your legit computer store and ask them to
send you the legit installation media for the legit Office 2003 software
you legit paid for. You'll need the Office 2003 CD to to install Office
2003 updates, or to add or remove Office 2003 features, or to repair or
uninstall or reinstall Office 2003.
