Installing Office 2007 over Office 2000

Hi

My computer came with Office 2000 pre-installed several years ago. (
don't have a disc for it). I now have just recently purchased a complet
version (not an upgrade) of Office Home and Student 2007
What I would like to know is, is it a simple matter just to instal
Office 2007, and the installation "Wizard" will do what is necessar
or, do I need to uninstall any part of 2000 for it to perform correctly
I have searched other questions about this but I am a little confuse
with the answers I read, (my 71 year old brain gets confused easil
these days.)
I think I am correct in saying that 2007 should have no problem openin
Excel documents which were compiled in 2000, but will it amend them?
need to amend them them because they form part of an ongoing accountin
system I am using

I also use a very handy add-on tool called "Send Mail", it allows me t
send paages or part pages of Excel as an attachment to e-mail. Will I b
able to transfer this over to 2007 as well

Thanks in advance for any replies

Generally installing Office 2007 would Upgrade / Replace the old version.
Office H&S 2007 doesnt include Outlook, which you may be using
Personally for Office 2k I would uninstall it & reboot prior to installing
2007
Office 2007 will open old docs, it wont save them in the new format unless
you 'Save As' and select the default 2007 format.
Couldnt say whether your 'Send Mail' tool will still function, look on their
web site to see if it supports 2007

Hi undisclosed,

When installing office 2007, you'll get the option of keeping or replacing Office 2000. Since some things are easier to do in Office
2000, you might want to keep it. If you opt to replace Office 2000, the Office 2007 installer will take care of that for you.
