I recently purchased a new computer with Windows XP Pro.. I tried to install
my copy of Office 97 Professional Edition.. At the end , when the software is
updating the system registry.. the following error message pops up..

"File htmlmarq.ocx was unable to register itself with the system registry."

Hi, jeff. Two options to choose from:
1. Uninstall Service Pack 2 for Windows XP. Install Office 97 and related
service packs. Reinstall Service Pack 2 for Windows XP.
2. If you don't plan to use Office 97 to create web pages, you can do a
custom installation of Office 97 in which you deselect Web Page Authoring
(HTML) in the setup options. IMHO, Word 97 is a lousy html editor anyway, so
you're not really losing anything by doing this. If you choose this
option, you don't have to do anything about WinXP SP2.
