Installing Office 97 on XP Home Edition

X

XP Home User

I did a custom installation to install Power Point, for I had previously had Excel and Outlook (also custom install). After I did this installation, I was told that it needed a ms097.dll file. So I got this file off the disk manually and then put it to the microsoft office directory. Then clicking power point shorcut did nothing. I went into Excel and it told me that there was not enough memory, which cannot be the case.

During the installation it told me that I would need to edit the autoexec.bat path, but I cannot figure out how to do this. I followed directions from an error 156352 posting, but this is for Win98.

The instructions said to remove and reisnstall, so I did this and I am still having the error.

HELP me PLEASE!!! Thank you!
