installing office 97 onto windows XP

I recently bought a new computer that came with Windows
XP. I have been trying to install Office 97 but it will
not install. I had the same Office 97 installed on
Windows 98 which worked fine, but now that I have this
new computer with windows XP, Office 97 will not
install. Any ideas on how to install office 97 would be
appreciated. Thanks.

Can you expand on how it will not install? Do you encounter an error
message? If so what is it?
