Installing Office Home & Student 2007 after trial expired

I had office 2003 and downloaded the trial version for 2007. After the trial
expired, 2003 didn't work properly. I bought Office 2007 from another source
and it will not install. I used Add/Remove programs to remove the trial
version. There are still some trial files left and 2003 continues to not
work properly. Then I used Add/Remove programs to remove office 2003 to see
if 2007 would then install. It will not. Any ideas what to do?

The cd prepares set up files, I enter product key, select install now,
starts install process. The message: MS Office ...2007 encountered error
during setup.

It does not tell me what error. When I used Add/Remove programs to remove
the trial version, it still has about 200mb of files in Microsoft Office
File.

I have MS office 2003 installation CD.

Yes I have the 2003 cd. Also, in my previous reply to Gordon, I explained
what happens when I try to install. Can you read that message?
