Installing Office Student and Teacher Edition 2003

I just bought Microsoft Office Student and Teacher Edition
2003 for my PC.

The box indicates that this software is for Microsoft
Windows 2000 or better; PC with Pentium 233 MHz or better.

My PC was designed for Microsoft Windows 2000 and is a
Pentium III processor, 850MHz.

When I put in the installation CD, I got the following
error message: "The specified program requires a newer
version of windows". I had thought that my PC was
adequate.

What, if anything, can I do to install this program?

Look under Control Panel, System Icon, General Tab. It will tell you the
version of Windows you have. If it is Windows ME, you cannot use the Office
program as it requires an NT based system, which Windows ME is not.
