Installing Office Ultimate 2007

I have just downloaded Office Ultimate 2007 to desktop of a laptop currently
running Office 2003. In article 928091 Microsoft writes that you can install
and use more than one version of MS Office on a single computer, however, "we
do not recommend this." Does Office Ultimate 2007 just replace Office 2003
during installation or do I need to do something before installation to
prevent conflicts?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Downloaded a setup file from the internet?
Run setup and select the upgrade option.
Hopefully you elected to pay extra to receive a cd/dvd copy, or at least
will save this setup file to a safe place.

I have similar Q...am student wanting to install Ultimate Office 2007 on
laptop currently running Office 2003 on XP. Should I uninstall 2003 BEFORE
installing 2007? I purchased this through a download and did opt to receive a
cd copy, but have not received it yet and want to install now. I have
downloaded to my desktop. Please advise. Thanks!!!
