Hi:
I currently have Office 2000 on my Win 98 computer and would like to
install Office XP Professional on top of it.
My computer and related hardware have more than the minimum
installation requirements for the installation. As well, I have
Norton Systems Works 2003 (includes Norton Anti Virus) and Norton
Internet Security Professional 2002.
Before doing the installation, I assume that disabling Norton System
Works and Norton Internet Security and stopping them from booting at
start up would help prevent installation problems.
Will the default directories for my MS Office data files remain in the
same directories (folders)?
I hear that I will lose my friendly help assistant, the Professor. Is
this true? Can I get to keep him?
Over the years I have kept many pictures, sounds, and animations in
the Clip Gallery version 5.0. I understand that Office XP uses a
different system called Clip Organizer. Will Office XP recognize the
Clip Gallery items on my hard drive that worked with my MS Office 2000
program?
The Office XP program has been on my shelf for about a year because I
wanted to upgrade my computer system before installing it. Should I
immediately install all the Service Packs?
In Office 2000 some of the Service Packs and updates disabled some MS
Office 2000 features, but MS did provide some work arounds although
some were not very elegant. Will MS Office XP Service Packs and
updates cause similar problems? If so, where can I get immediate help
for the work arounds?
I intend to do the full installation. Are there any other issues I
should be aware of?
