Installing Office XP Professional

Dave Myles

I purchased the discs to load Office XP Professional.
When I insert the first disc it says "Step by step
interactive training." Do I have the correct disc to
install Office XP Professional? The second disc is an
upgrade which won't run because it can't find Office XP.

Dave,

Most probably you have bought the wrong product. Your product seems to
be an upgrade version and unless you have Office 97 or Windows Office
2k, you can't install an upgrade version.

If you have the old version (say Office 97) then simply insert the media
in the drive when prompted to do so. There is no need to install the
old version but the new installation needs to verify whether you are
entitled to an upgrade.

Hope this helps.

The discs I have are for Office XP Professional 2002. I
had installed before, but had to do a full recovery last
week. Have I possibly misplaced the disc or does the
installation follow the Interactivne Training? My
assumption is that there should be a separate disc for set
up and installation.
