Installing one copy of MS Office on two computers

I have a Mac G4 power book running OS10.3 with MS Office X installed.
I also have a Mac G4 desktop running OS10.3. When I try to install
Office X on the desktop I get a message telling me the installation
can not be completed. How/ where do I get the authorization to
upgrade from Office 2001 to Office X on the desktop computer?
Thanks.

Your license already authorizes you to install on both the laptop
and the desktop.

Make sure you've signed in as an administrator and that you're
installing Office v.X into the Applications folder of your HD, not
your ~:Applications folder (where ~ is your home directory).

Also, make sure that if you had Office v.X Test Drive on your
desktop that you've removed it using the Remove Office application
in the Value Pack folder of your Office v.X installation disk.

Thank You Very Much for your help! I now have Office X working on
both computers with your help. If only MS was as easy to reach and as
helpful with clear directions as you have been, life would be great.
Thanks again!

Well I did get the second copy of MS Office X installed on my
desktop computer but now it will not let me use the installation. I
keep getting the message: macoffice is installed on too many machines.
How do I fix this? Thanks.

Read #76 on the Entourage help page...

They can be installed on a laptop and a desktop (and Office can tell if it's
a laptop or a desktop) and they can't be running on both machines at the
same time.
