Installing Outlook 2003

I use Pop3 for my email. After loading Outlook 2003 it hung with a message
stating that I needed to be on an exchange server. Is this true? If not, how
do I get around this issue?

No, you apparently told Outlook you had an Exchange account when it asked
you about your accounts. The easiest way to fix this is to go to Control
Panel and use the Mail applet to change your mail profile. Remove the
Exchange account and add a POP account and, if necessary, a Personal Folders
..pst file for storing the data.

Both of my email accounts are setup as POP accounts. The funny thing that
occurs is when I first bring outlook up, it comes up with no issues. If I
close outlook and attempt to bring it up again is when it hangs and advises
me that it cannot find the exchange server. The way around this problem is
for me to reboot my PC and reopen Outlook fresh.

Did you check your profile in Control Panel as I suggested?

Yes and they are both setup correctly.
