Installing Outlook to New Hard Drive

I'm installing a new system drive, which means that I'll have to re-install
Outlook 2000, (indeed, all of Office 2000). Needless to say, I'll be
wanting to port all of my old messages into the new install, which I'm
assuming means that I'll have to copy one gargantuan file from a system
directory under old install to the same directory under the new one. Can
anybody tell me which directory I can find this file in, and what it's name
is?

Posted here every day. Your assumption is incorrect, however. The last thing
you want to do is copy your Outlook Data File to the default directory. Copy
it anywhere else, then open it in your new installation. Do not attempt to
import it.
The file you need is your Personal Folders file (*.pst) It's where all the
mail, calendar, contacts etc are stored.
