Installing Project 2003

C

Corren

At the beginning of the installation I get the message = "...cannot be installed when another instance of .... is already present. ..... remove the previous instance using Add/Remove ... from the Control Panel.
Previous version was already removed and I have deleted all references to Project from the Registry and cannot find any of the Project files in C:\Program Files. Not under Office11 directory or anywhere else. This should install - but, I get the above message every time I try to install. Project does not even show up in the Control Panel of files to Remove
Microsoft KB has several articles on the subject, but none of them was helpful

Hi Corren,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

Have you got or had any beta Software? Office 2003 beta has been known to
give some trouble in the past. If it is not that, then I can only suggest
you contact microsoft support.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: <http://www.mvps.org/project/>

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on:)

Thank you for your kind words.
I cannot swear I did not have the beta. I first installed the Office Suite, then tried Project. That did not work. Then I reversed the order after uninstalling Office. Still no success. I left a similar message on Microsoft Office Forum, the next step then is the direct contact with Microsoft.
Thanks again.
