Installing Project Server 2007 in MOSS SP1 environment

Hi,

I have been looking around for info on my issue outlined below. I hope
someone can help me out here.

We currently have a SharePoint App and a SharePoint WFE server. In our
SharePoint environment we are running Project Server 2007.

We recently upgraded the SharePoint environment to SP1. This SP
includes SP1 for Project Server 2007.

I have extracted both the WSS SP1 as the Office Server SP1 to the
Updates folder in the original installation location.

We now want to extend our farm with an additional WFE server. All our
SharePoint servers have a full installation, with unnecessary services
disabled on the WFE server.

The new WFE server also needs to have Project Server 2007 installed.

If I install the MOSS 2007 binaries to the new WFE server, the SP1
bits will be included, as I have extracted SP1 to the Updates folder.

After that, I need to install the Project Server binaries.

The problem now is: do I need to re-apply SP1 after installing Project
Server because I am installing the RTM binaries of Project Server?

If that is the case, it renders the Updates folder in the MOSS2007
installation point useless.

And while we are at the subject, how about a brand new deploy of
Project Server 2007 in an existing MOSS 2007 farm with SP1 already
installed?

As I mentioned before, I cannot find any information on how to
approach this situation, and your advice is more than welcome.

Cheers,

LF

Hi Paul!

Thank you. I had, for some reason, not noticed the Updates directory.
Nevertheless, one would think it would be documented somewhere.
Anyways, thanks a million!

Cheers,

Rick
