Installing Project Server on a W2K3 Server

I'm trying to install Project Server 2003 on a Windows 2003 sever that is a
member of a Domain. I want all of the account and groups need to orginate
from the Windows 2003 Domain Controller. So I've create the groups and
accounts need on the Domain controller to include MSProjectServerRole and
MSProjectRole. ProjectAdmin and ProjectUser also exist in my domain.

During the installation I'm able to get to the Database Account Information
dialog box. I entered the Domain accounts a password. I get the following
message when I click the next button:

The username and password you entered is not allowed to log on the
"serverA". Check that the servername, logon name and password are vaild and
try again.

I've entered the user names with and without the domain name specified and I
continue to get the same results. I've even tried to add the group and
account information locally from the domain controller and was unable to do
that, because it did not like the use of a "\" to include the domain name.
So I tried just adding the accounts names locally. I was able to add the
account names, but still the installation would produce the same results as
above.

Does anyone know what's going on here and how to fix it?

Thanks

Larry:

You are so far out in left field with this installation the best I can
suggest is that your *read* the installation guide from beginning to end
before you do another thing. The MSProjectUser and MSProjectServerUser
accounts are strictly SQL accounts and have nothing to do with your domain
or anyone else's for that matter. These are not used to logon to Project
Server; they're used internally by the system as impersonation accounts for
SQL server. When you install Project Server successfully, only one account
is created for initial logon to the server. It's aptly named "administrator"
without the quotes. The password for this account is set through the
installation process. It, too, is not a domain account and has not relation
to your domain or active directory.

Read the guide.
