installing Service Pack 1

Pete Q

I was going to download Service Pack 1 and noticied that
this included updates to some MS Office applications that
did not come with the version of Office XP that I own
(such as Access and Frontpage).

Is there any issue with downloading the entire service
pack even though it includes updates to programs that I
don't have on my machine?

Where do these updates go if there is no program on my
machine? I wasn't sure if the updates actually end up
getting installed or if the system knows I don't have
these programs and the updates are ignored and not really
installed on my machine.

No, the SP figures out what programs you have installed and will only update
those that are present.
