Installing testdrive MS Office 2004 for Mac

Premkumar

While trying to install the above on my iBookG4, I get the following error
message

"The Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac Test Drive cannot be run from a volume
with read only permission. Reinstall the test drive on a volume with read and
write permission"

Is there someone who can hold my hand in solving the above problem?

Hi Prem,

Where exactly you are trying to install the test drive? I have inserted a CD
onto your system and if you are pointing to install on that volume then you
may get such errors.

When you open the test drive icon you may find a folder which says Microsoft
Office 2004. Select that folder and drag & drop onto your <Harddrive> /
Applications folder.

After you copy completely open the Applications folder and try launching
Office applications from that folder.

Note : If you have downloaded MS office 2004 testdrive and if you double
click on that icon it mounts a temporary volume on your desktop. While
installing if you point the destination to this volume even then you may
encounter such errors.

Hope this resolves your issue.
