Installing the Data Analysis Pack

Hi,

I am trying to install the Data Analysis Pack into Excel 2002. The problem
is it asks for the disk to complete the installation. I do not have the disk
with me because I am away at college. Is there any other way to install this
feature without having the disk.

"Install" how?

Do you mean in Control Panel>Add/remove programs>Change?

Borrowing a disk from someone would work.

I am trying to go to tools>add ins, then trying to add the analysis package.
Does microsoft no have a download of this anywhere?

Going to Tools>Addins and selecting the ATP is not "installing" the ATP, merely
loading it from where it is located on your Computer if it were installed with
Office and/or Excel.

The default location on a regular installation of Office is in the folder

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\Library\Analysis

There will be 4 files in the Analysis folder.

ANALYS32.XLL
FUNCRES.XLA
ATPVBAEN.XLA
PROCDB.XLA

Is there no Analysis ToolPak to select from Tools>Addins?

Or it is available for selection but Excel asks for the disk?

There is no download site for the ATP for Excel 2002 or any version of Excel.

Please ignore my previous comment. I have found my disk and fixed the problem.

Good to hear, but in answer to your previous post.

No you could not just copy the 4 files to your computer.

I am bothered by the fact that the ATP was available in Addins but asked for the
disk.

Sounds like it was once on your computer but got taken off and when you selected
it Excel could not find it.

Might have been installed with "Install on first use" selected. That might
leave it as a selectable option within the interface, but it wouldn't
actually install until selected the first time. I've never used that
installation option, so I'm just guessing.
