Installing the Office 2008 12.1.1 Update

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)

When I try to install, after downloading, I get a message: You cannot install Office 2008 12.1.1 Update on this volume. A version of the software required to install this update was not found on this volume. However, I do have 12.1.0 on the iMac! I had no problem doing the same install on my iBook. I have tried downloading directly from MacTopia instead of from the Software Update screen, but neither will work.

Have you used either a Utility to delete Language packs you don't use.
Or have you updated any individual items within Office.

If so then the version of Office its looking for has been altered.

you will have to remove and reinstall Office2008 then run the 12.01
updater, then the 1210 updater and finally the 1211 updater.

Don't just drag and drop items to trash use the un-installer provided
with Office2008 or get the latest un-installer (if one is available from
Mactopia) and run it. Then reinstall.
