Installing updates for Office 2000 Premium

I have Office 2000 Premium with four cds. When i visit
Office Update site there are some updates to download. I
do this but when the installation begins, the floppy disk
works (it's empty) and after few seconds the process
fails. A small window appears titled "Microsoft Office
Hotfix Installer" with the message "The update cannot be
applied". The installation process doesn't ask me the cds
and i can't applied the patches. Why?
