Installing Updates for several versions of Office? 97/2000/XP/2003

In our LAN we use several kinds of Office. E. g. 97/2000/XP/2003. Why can I
distribute all necessary Updates for each kind of Office? Our users don´t
have the permission to download from the Update-Website and also they have no
administrative rights for installing/updating something.

Hi Karinsa,

Office 97 used the MS 'acmesetup' program, not supported
by the online update service, while
Office 2000 and up use the MS Windows Installer,
which works a bit differently.

You can download Office 97 updates from
http://office.microsoft.com/downloads
Newer version updates are available, along with the
tools and information on updating Office from the
Office Resource Kits (ORK) for each version

Karinska:

If you're an IT admin and looking for an update strategy for your Office
desktops I recommend you contact Microsoft PSS, they can be very helpful in
this sense. Also, as Bob mentioned, look at the Office Resource Kit for the
different Office versions:

Also here's a good article about distributing Office 2003 updates:
