Hi there,
Our company choose for a workstation lockdown scenario. Users cannot install
software on their workstations.
When they have to work with prject web access they get the well known error
"The controls for Microsoft Project Web Access Could Not Be Downloaded
Correctly". This error is documented in Technet/KB article 818046.
We tried method 3 of this article and tried to deploy and install these
controls during our workstation install plan (extracting the cab files and
registering the .ocx and .dll files). During desktop deployment this is done
with an admin account.
The internet explorer trusted site settings are OK !! When using web access
as admin there is no problem.
My questions are:
What could I be doing wrong while pre-installing the contols for the users
(or has someone a working procedure?)
if that doesn't work:
What security (file level / registry level) can I change in order to make
installation of these controls successfull in user context?
Friendly regards,
R.
