Installing Word 2000 after 2007

Kate G.

I have a friend who has Word 2007 installed. She hates it... and I don't
know it so am not much help to her. (I'm not Word illiterate... I'm MOUS
certified for 2000) -- but just don't have 2007 and haven't used it at all.

Is it possible to install Word 2000 on her machine and have it work without
an infinite number of problems??? Would we need to uninstall 2007 first?

My friends is a senior citizen who will be using only the most basic of Word
features... she is somewhat new to computers in general... and I'm trying
to help her become more comfortable. She has access to a disk for 2000 -- I
just need to know the best way to put it on her machine that I don't set her
up for error after error. I'm not sure there is anything in 2007 that we
would need to keep for her use... but what residual "stuff" after uninstall
would interfere with 2000?

Thanks

PS -- she is running Vista

Thanks...

«Information about using 2007 Office suites and programs on a computer that
is running another version of Office
....
You can install and use more than one version of Microsoft Office on a
single computer. For example, you can install and use both Microsoft 2007
Office suites and programs and Microsoft Office 2003 on the same computer.
However, we do not recommend this. »

It sounds as if the simplest solution for your friend is to remove Word 2007
and install Word 2000. However, read the Knowledge Base article and decide
what is best. Note the installation order recommended. First Word 2000,
then Word 2007 (or any later version). Installing in the reverse order is
going to cause problems.
