Installing Word file format converters

Following the instructions in the Help file of Microsoft Word I went to
add/remove programs, clicked on Microsoft Word 2000 SR-1 which I got off of
the Microsoft Works CDs, clicked change because I have Windows XP sp2 and I
received the following error: "The installation source for this product is
not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it."

I don't know what "source" it is talking about. For example, is it requiring
the CD because it didn't ask for it or if it is requiring a .msi file, which
one is it looking for?

Hi Debra,

It's asking for the original installation location to be provided. In normal end user installations that would be the Word 2000 CD,
included in MS Works Suite edition.

I put in Disc 1 Works Suite 2000 Setup Disc and tried it again. I got the
same error message so I put in Disc 2 which is the one with the actual Word
program on it and I still got the same error message.
