InstallShield crashing / RPC error / Office 2000 not found

Hi,

Trying to install a new Wifi card on USB, i got an error message, telling
that it was incompatible with my RTC card. I downloaded mcrepair.exe as
ercommended by microsoft, but that didn't work. I have Office 2000
components, so i tried the SR1a file update...
but didn't work, writing the message "An expected Office 2000 version wasn't
found on your system"

hope some of you will help me, as i trully lack of ideas right now.
