Insufficent memory or disk space message

I'm running Word 2007 in the Office Enterprise edition, The PC is running
Windows 7 with 9GB or RAM and I have 394GB of hard drive space free.

When I start Word I get the following message: There is insufficent memory
or disk space. Word cannot display the requested font.

If I ok that the only fonts available are:
Cambria & Calibri.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the printer as I read this could cause
problems but no joy. I've run it in normal and administrator modes and tried
running it in compatability mode.

The same software runs fine in XP service pack 3

Can anyone help me?

Many thanks

Andy

You're symptoms suggest either a missing, corrupt or incompatible printer
driver. Word must see a locally installed, compatible printer driver to
work.

.
I did that and it worked fine. However when I turned it on tonight it's doing the same thing again? Any ideas?

Cheers

I've completely removed the printer, drivers and all related software and reinstalled it all and it works fine. However as soon as I reboot I get the same problem again. I'm using the latest drivers from HP, I'm not sure what to do short of setting the pc back to factory settings and reinstalling everything. Maybe that's the best solution?

There has to be something wrong with the install because if installing the
printer (setting it as Windows Default???) gets Word working correctly
proves it is lack of printer driver and nothing to do with Word.

When you reboot the computer, is the printer still set as the Windows
Default? Is there possibly some horrible AV or other 'system protection'
blocking registry changes or restoring the registry on reboot? There are
many such badly written utilities out there.

Yep, the printer is still listed as the default printer. The computer is new,
the only software that I've installed is Office 2007 and software for a
Netgear NAS.

I've downloaded the revised printer software from HP for Windows 7 and done
a clean install using that. Still no luck. I even turn the printer on before
turning on the PC but no luck. I just get the same message.

Short of reseting the PC to factory standard and reinstalling all the
software I don't know what to do.

At the moment locally, but I've tried it networked as well and get the same
result. This morning I turned it on and it's fine! The doesn't seem to be any
consistency to it.

Let us know how it goes then.

Well, I completely unistalled the HP officejet printer and all associated
software. I rebooted and checked Word and it worked fine with all fonts
available.

I went to the HP website and downloaded the latest printer drivers and
software for Windows 7 64 bit. I followed the instructions and installed
everythiung fresh. Rebooted and checked Word and the old problem was back
with only a couple of fonts available!

The only solution I can see is getting another printer, as this one is less
than 6 months old I'm not overly happy!
