Insufficient memory for dialog box to save a project 98 file

I have not been able to save a new file or save as old
name for months. It claims that there is insufficient
memory to show dialog box. Desspite maxxing out memory
onboard, this is still happening, i have loaded memory
managers to display memory usage, but they do not seem to
indicate a shortage of memory.

there may be a problem with my VMM (Virtual memory
Manager)that diagnostics show and remains unfixed despite
many trials. This used to run on this computer for the
past three years flawlessly. Any other suggestions? Ive
been looking for installation cd here to no avail...
