"Insufficient memory" when saving a word 2007 to any other format

When I attempt to save a word 2007 document, which uses new features (like
diagonal borders & others) in any other file format, like Word 2003 or HTML
or RTF, etc, I receive error #201458: "Word was unable to save your document
as the file type you specified..." After I click OK, I get error #200094
"Word has insufficient memory..."

How could I get around this?

I've not seen that before but it suggests that the document may be partially
corrupt. Try using the Open and Repair option to see if it finds anything.
Also, are you fully patched up to date?

Hmmmm... I get this error on dozens of documents I've been processing.
Perhaps I shoudl borrow somebody elses's computer to test. My version of
office is 12.0.6425.1000 (based on info in add/remove programs) and my OS is
not asking me to upgrade. I think, I should be up-to-date. What do you
think?

If you connected to Microsoft Update and it offered no updates, you should
be fully up to date. However, check in Word Options, Resources Tab and under
about Microsoft Office Word 2007 it should give the complete details: mine
says Microsoft Office Word 2007 (12.0.6504.5000) SP2 MSO (12.0.6425.1000) -
which suggests that you are up to date.

Whilst in that dialog, run the DIAGNOSE option.

Did you try the Open and Repair option to see if it found any errors?
