Insufficient Security Privilege

Hi everyone-

Okay hopefully I can explain this correctly.

I was given the task of creating Infopath versions of our HR forms ( Address
change, Medical Leave, etc. ). I had no problem creating the forms but when I
notified others that they were ready to be used, and theylogged into our
Sharepoint site, they could not open the files. When they tried to they
received this message:

Insufficient Security Privilege

This form cannot be opened because it requests domain security level and is
only allowed restricted security level. Based on the information in the form,
the file should be located at
file:///D:\Businesses\Shared\Written%20Warning2.xsn in order to open with the
correct security level.

Now the real problem is that I have 2 forms that I created a few weeks back
that no one has any problems opening. The 20 or so new ones I created cannot
be opened. I on the other hand can open them from any computer on our network.

So I checked properties of the files and compared them with the 2 that are
working correctly and they match. I checked under form options in design
mode, they matched. I adjusted security options in Internet Explorer but that
did not help. InfoPath is installed on all the computers with the update. I
even went ahead and made new forms using one of the 2 forms that are working
as the stereotype and just copy and pasted from the bad file, then saved it
as a new file adding 1 to the name so I know which form is the new one. I did
this with the hopes that, since I know this file works, it would retain
whatever privileges, curse, hex whatever allows it to be opened by anyone,
this new file would also work.

Obviously it didn't work since I am writing this. My boss can't figure out
why I could make 2 forms that had no problem, then 2 weeks later when I am
asked to do a bunch more none of them work. To tell you the truth I can't
figure it out either.

HELP! I know its going to be something silly or I hope its going to be
something silly and I forgot something. But whichever it is can someone
please let me know what I can try? And I am hesitant to redo all those forms
without knowing what the problem is and spending the time to do all of them
again with the outcome bei9ng the same.

Thank you
Rick

Hi

Thankfully this can be solved simply. I think this is a two stage problem.
It looks as if the forms have not been PUBLISHED to SharePoint as when the
users look for the template it refernces a D: drive that not everyone has
access to. Second problem i sthat SharePoint runs its own security not IIS,
or NT, so all the people needing access to the form from Sharepoint would
need to be given access.

As an aside you could publish to SharePoint to create the form library and
then publsih again to a network share, thus the users only require access to
the network share and not SharePoint but you can stil lrecord the details in
SharePoint.

I hope this helps

I'm afraid this will not solve the issue. What I've noticed and
searched through MS discussion groups the only working solution (or
rather a workaround) is to delete cached forms (both in IE and in
InfoPath) from each of users PCs that had this problem. Anyway this
will not solve the issue if you are using Internet Expolorer 7. MS did
not have answer to it.
Anyway first make sure users really have required authorizations.

Hi

Thanks to both Adams for the quick response. It is deeply appreciated. I
actually stayed late last night and fixed the problem ( more like put a
band-aid on it ). I eneded up creating a certificate which is downloaded and
placed in a store allowing my end users to open up the forms. Had to change
the security options in InfoPath under Tools, Form Options, then checking
Full Trust. This has to be done in Design Mode. Thanks again
