Integrating MS Project 2002 with Outlook 2007

I have heard that you can integrate project with outlook. What I like about
Project is that you have predecessors (so if you change one item, everything
preceding it automatically changes). Sometimes I have quite a few items
preceding other items. Now, in Outlook, when I put something into my
calender, I get daily reminders of the items. But I can't have the preceding
function, so if something changes, I have to go in and change the 15
preceding it manually. What a pain! But, I have heard that you can "export"
tasks from Project and put them into an Outlook calender. How, How HOW?!
Anyone know?

Hello imissplay07,

Project 2002 has a feature called the workgroup message handler,
however, I don't know if the message handler would work with Outlook
2007. For details on the workgroup message handler see:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/329827/en-us

I would thoroughly test using Outlook 2007 before rolling it out.

You can also export task information from Project to outlook but that
is a simple drop of data. The information in outlook would not be
"linked" to the Project data, so changes in the project data would
require either a new export/import or a manual updating from outlook

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
