Hello,
Is there a solution where MS-Project (Server) can use the Active
Directory / Exchange list of resources?
The idea is that when a plan is published emails, which are in fact
Outlook appointment invitations, are sent to each resource identified
in the plan. So obviously MS-Project needs to be "linked" in some way
to Exchange / Active Directory to know which email address to send the
appointment to.
Then when the recipient "accepts" the invitation it becomes a task
in that person's Outlook Calender. If the appointment invitation is
rejected this is fed back to project Server. Hence the Project Manager
can see which tasks are accepted / rejected / not responded to.
An alternative would be the email is sent but it just contains a
link back to some Web page hosted on Project Server where the person
accepts or rejects the task.
Pushing it a bit further how does the resource post progress or
closure of the task?
I am not a Project Server user so these may be standard functions.
Thanks
Clive
