Integration of Visual SourceSafe 6.0 into Project Server 2003

I was wondering if there is any possibility to integrate
SourceSafe-functionality into Project Server 2003.
For example: When creating a new Task in Project there should be a
possibility to assign a certain tree, file etc. in certain SourceSafe
databases.
Further there should be a possibility to automatically check out and check
in those connected files when changing the status for that certain task in
Project 2003.
The aim is to keep track of all resources depending on that certain task.

Does anybody have an idea?
