We are working on the integration of Microsoft Project server 2003 and
Microsoft Sharepoint Portal Server 2003. We have configured it in such a way
that project WSS sites will be created in WSS
server(http://sharepointserver:90/sites/Projectserver_142/default.aspx) on
publishing of project through Project 2003. (And URL of our Sharepoint portal
site is:http://sharepointserver:91/default.aspx)
We have some issues regarding Search functionality in Sharepoint Portal
server 2003. We are not able to search any contents in Project sites through
Sharepoint Portal search. We tried with a lot many options but it did not
work. The only 2 options that worked out are:
1. Explicitly created one content source (Non_Portal_content) using the URL
"http://sharepointserver:90/sites/Projectserver_142/default.aspx", and then
we crawled and search through Sharepoint portal search, then search is
working.
2. Added the link
"http://sharepointserver:90/sites/Projectserver_142/default.aspx" using "Add
a link" in Site Directory of Sharepoint portal server and crawled. Then
search in working.
Now the issue is that, for each WSS Site created, do I need to explicitly
add the content source in sharepoint portal site to get the search to work
for that site? Or do I have to add a link explicitly in Site Directory of
Sharepoint portal server?
Is there any way that I will be able to search through project sites in
Sharepoint portal site without adding each site in content source or each
site link(in Site directory) explicitly?
Note: We also tried by creating a content source for the URL:
http//sharepointserver:90 and by adding a rule:
http://sharepointserver:90/*and http://sharepointserver:90/sites/* and
http://sharepointserver:90/sites/*/*.txt but the search for any WSS site
document or content is not working.
