Integration with third-party time reporting system

We are working on an integration between our third-party time reporting
system and Project Server 2003.

Our goal is to update registrations of actual work on assignments in
projects in Project Server from our time reporting system.

The updating of actual work works fine, but we would like (if possible) to
automate the acceptance of the updates, to prevent that project manager has
to accept the actual work two times (first in our time reporting system, and
then in Project).

Is it possible to do this by configuration, PDS or could our problem be
solved by a PDS extension? - and if so, what do we need to do?

Best regards

Hello Michael,

Take a look at the "Set rules for automatically accepting changes" feature on
the Updates page in PWA. I believe this would allow your project managers
to automaticaly accept the updates.

I haven't played with this feature, but it might be what you are looking for.

Michael,

I am also working on same requirement.

As mentioned by Bob, you can set the rules for automatically accepting
changes.
But the sad part of it is (ofcourse good from Microsoft perspective and
also my perspective but not from clients perspective), the project
manager has to click on the apply rules button manually and it goes
through all the process of opening project professional instance for
each project to be updated and updates the actuals to the plan and save
the project.

If you are also looking for automating this process, then see my
comments for the post 'Automation of Timesheets', (URL is posted below)
where i have mentioned all my findings till now.

Plz let me know if you get any possible solutions for this from anyone.
Or else we can share our ideas to work on this collabaratively.

Thanks & regards
